The Siege of Gaza is Broken

How did you come up with that daft idea?

It was the jews land, the muslims invaded and occupied it, then the jews took it back. Historical fact mate. Just like us and a quarter ofthe planet. Just because you occupy it it for a bit it doesn't mean you get to keep it.

As of 1918 the area of Palestine had 56,000 Jews and a million Palestinian Arabs. Roughly 5% of the population. Prior to that they coexisted fairly peaceably. No group had or made any particular claims to exclusive ownership of the land until Zionism arrived.

Right, so George Bush is going to give back America to the Red Indians?

Thousands of years ago, nations were constantly invaded. But why Palestine should be 'given back' to the Jews, when most of the Jews living Israel are actually of European or Russian descent is something I can't get my head around.

The issue goes back before 1918. Just like the Irish thing. People have a claim on land, it doesn't matter how many invaders colonise it, if they have the ability they will take their land back. Not everyone has that ability, but the jews did, so good for them.
