I was wondering does anyone know if there are any festivities planned in Sheffield for the Chinese new year, any parades or street festivals? funkyukgal Posted February 3, 2008 Share Posted February 3, 2008 Chinese New Year is on Feb Thurs 7th. There will be a Chinese New Year Party at City Hall on the 4th. Tickets are £5 and £3. The Chinese Sheffield Lion Dance Team will be doing a performance greeting people outside at the start then another performance inside later in the evening. link to the event- http://www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk/events/1159/chinese_new_year_celebration.html Also on Friday 8th, from midday onwards the Lion Dance team will be going round town blessing the chinese restaurants in City Centre as well as London Road.
