To celebrate this monumental occation we'll be having a FREE ENTRY party on the 8th Feb, with UG fav Jonny Townsend and special guests the Janatahs stopping by to drop some fat beats and tastey scratchin' madness. Sheffield is gearing itself up for a brand new breaks and electro house night when RawR launches next week. The monthly night, held upstairs at DQ on Fitzwilliam Street in Sheffield City centre, kicks off on Friday February 8 with a massive free party to give revellers the heads up of what they can expect at the new monthly event. Residents Jim and Dan Random as well as Si Mclean will be doing the groundwork, while Urban Gorilla ressie Jonny Townsend and MOFO records scratch masters The Janatah DJs are set to add the sparkle. Following the opening freebie, the new night is expected to become a major player on the Sheffield scene with some big name breaks DJs already in line to headline alongside plenty of fresh breaking talent. Expect to see album tours from some of the brightest stars plus label nights from some of the biggest names in the business. RawR is the brainchild of Si Mclean – the man behind the massive and much missed Future Funk - and talented DJing duo Jim and Dan Random, who can count slots at clubs such as Herbal in London, the Custard Factory in Birmingham and numerous venues across the north on their impressive resume, as well as several guest appearances on radio shows such as NSB, BRAP & Breaks FM. They’ve worked hard to set up a range of sponsorship packages so that as well as pumping out some of the best dance music around, RawR will also be home to loads of quality drinks offers and promotions, courtesy of the likes of Corona and Smirnoff.
