simonsmith
My name is Joan Gillatt and I worked for British Rail as a carriage cleaner, started in 1967 at Heeley Sidings then transferred to Nunnery sidings in 1972 until leaving in 1982. Just wondered if anyone on the forum worked for them and has got any memories from their time on the railways?..

Texas
Sometimes we would work thro' the carriage stock in Heeley Sidings, searching in between the seats for loose change. Could be lucrative.

socrates
I worked at Brightside and Attercliffe railway sidings between 1978 and 1982, where, apart from other things, Tinsley wire was loaded and unloaded (before all the steel and engineering works were closed).
