tasha_78_1
I agree mike84. Having had to push a wheelchair out into the road because of a car parked across the pavement, this should happen more often
scousemouse
I appreciate how difficult it must be if you do not have a drive and have to park on the road. But if the road is narrow (as in the case of some council estates) and people park each side of the road, emergency services won't be able to get through, the only alternstive is to park on the grass verge, or part of the footpath. I never leave my car on the road, if I am not driving it, it is in the garage!!!
saxon51
There's some ignorant pillock where my brother lives in Longley who parks his two recovery trucks on the pavement, sometimes on both sides.
manofstrad
Exactly, it's the council's. If you want to tell people where to park then buy your own verge & do what you want with it. Sadly this is true. Unless like my neighbours and I, you own the lane, there is nothing you can do to stop these vandals churning up your their verge. cgksheff
Exactly, it's the council's. No it isn't. It belongs to US and we pay Council Officers to implement policies, regulations and laws that we have decided upon. The majority have decided that it is against our wishes for people to drive over kerbs, obstruct pathways and damage our property.
manofstrad
Only to those unfortunates who have to walk/drive mobility scooters/push prams/walk with white canes etc down the centre of the road. That is dangerous and just plain silly! Use the pavements for goodness sake.
sheffel
If its on your "part" of the road/grass verge then fair play..
tasha_78_1
That is dangerous and just plain silly! Use the pavements for goodness sake. The whole point of this post!!!! One cannot use the pavement because of the vehicle parked across it!!!!!
anywebsite
Just whack the door mirror with the pram! That's criminal damage & a much more serious offence.
HandyBob
To my understanding it is illegal to park on the grass verge if it is not then now come the council moans if you drive over the grass verge to park your car in your garden, or is that another money making scheme by the council as you have to pay for a dropped crossing. If you how-ever put's any thing on the grass verge to stop them parking that is illegal
