SportsTrophy
Parking laws need to be much tougher and enforced as the roads become busier. Sheffield CC will not decriminalise parking issues and is not inclined to put money this way.
mollie
Good grief Ah get it, you don't mean parking on YOUR drive but parking on someone else's drive. That's not on agree.
Green Web
Anyone who prioritises the aesthetics of a grass verge by always parking on the road over allowing emergency services road access to save people lives is retarded.
Super Hans
Anyone who prioritises the aesthetics of a grass verge by always parking on the road over allowing emergency services road access to save people lives is retarded. I second this, I mean...it's not even just about letting the emergency services past, cars parked up on roads cause accidents and for the sake of a bit of grass it's not worth it. If you're desperate for a nice looking verge, AstroTurf it.
SportsTrophy
Yes you should not block the road because of the emergency vehicles having to go past your car every ten minutes because someone has parked on the grass verge blocking visibility of the road and entered in front of another vehicle causing an accident. Right If you can't park conveniently and considerately then just park considerately even if it means a minute walk.
El Cid
Yes you should not block the road because of the emergency vehicles having to go past your car every ten minutes. On my regular route, a house holder was saying that they are attempting to get busses that drop off at the local school banned from their residential streets. Barmy, what about the bin lorry etc. It means that if a bus can get through, there might be just a big enough gap for me
embotr
Such a shame...right in the heart of Dore Village has suddenly become quite 'trailer trash' in aspect...since this car decided to park here very night, for 'bout two months now. The grass is absolutely dead now...he or she even gets the council effectively to smooth his driveway every now & then when they cut it... https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/p480x480/8563_10201581395479408_549172312_n.jpg
Mecky
The only thing worse than parking on a grass verge is parking opposite a T juntion, which is illegal, but always seems to go unpunished.

annbaker
We have a grass verge which is supposed to be maintained by the council - it isn't so we as a group of neighbours look after it and keep it tidy but we're not allowed to park on it. There is permit parking on our road which works OK til the school traffic arrives where they park across driveways and on the verge which are yellow lined and it seems no rules of the road apply. If the road isn't wide enough with parked cars why on earth is it a bus route? But whatever emergency vehicles must be able to get through at all times. So if the road isn't wide enough to avoid parking on the grass verge and churning up the grass meaning it becomes a mudbath - get rid of them. Lobby the local councillor! Better meanwhile to park on it than someone lose their life because a 999 couldn;t get through.
