JayVee
I did the same with Queens brew, Ladys BRidge pub when I was not quite 17....3 pints on Xmas eve and I got out of bed on Boxing day......absolutely true.. It was called 'Queens Ale' - a recipe of Harold Burkinshaws - withdrawn sometime in the seventies and an attempt to reintroduce it in the late 80's but it didnt take off so withdrawn again. By the way arrodbo - as I remember, 3pts of anything and you were anybodys!!! The good old days of the 60's eh??
arrodbo
JAYVEE, You have a good memory for a man of your years!! Harold Burkinshaw scared me to death, I wonder how he would have coped in the 1990s when it became fashionable (and right in my view) to call everyone by their first name. I cannot imagine me as a 16 year old walking down Millsands saying good morning Harold. In my 40 years he was one of only 2 Directors I couldn,t call by Christian name. The other one was Tony Wallis Head brewer at Blackburn Lancs.
