Red Head Posted March 18, 2008 Share Posted March 18, 2008 Hello Everyone, I would very much appreciate some advice. My husband and I are trying to decide if we should move to Royston, near Barnsley. We have found a house we love but are unsure of the village as we are not from round these parts. Is the village ok? Any thoughts or advice very very welcome. shihtzumad Posted March 18, 2008 Share Posted March 18, 2008 I would say visit the area as much as possible and at different times of the day, if u see anyone about and they look friendly stop and ask them about the area, ring the local council office up, are if you can, even better speak to the local police man. BIG ERN Posted March 18, 2008 Share Posted March 18, 2008 I work in and around Royston every other day, the areas to avoid are the terraces in and around the Midland Road area alot of them are rented to down and outs and quite a few are boarded up waiting to be demolished.
