He is reputed to have fought William "Iron" Hague and came from the Mansfield Road/Intake area of Sheffield. Any information would help. intitot Posted March 22, 2008 Share Posted March 22, 2008 Hi Dandie, My grandfather, Arthur Wild, was a bare knuckle fighter, he once fought for a purse of 2 grand in the 30`s, he also used to set up fights for my father, (on Blast lane, just off broad st) getting him out of bed on regular occasions, to fight, then go back home!!
