BigTony
Yep, closed down. About x90 Yates across the UK have shut up shop this weekend (many being sold off). Far to many bars anyway - goto the independents not the chains.
Tess
Would the fact that someone got stabbed close to it, after being in it, be a factor as to why it closed? Or was it purely because they were getting sold off?
Vulcan B2
yup, there's at least one other, there's definitely the one on Carver street and the Bagshawe Arms, on Norton Ave. ( and I thought there was one in the chapeltown area) The Bagshawe is no longer owned by Yates, it is owned by The Passionate Pub Co. My son works there.
mikeG
bagshaw was a yates wine lodge for years . dont know if its the same firm but yes your right . there was also only 2 youngers tartan bitter pubs as far south as sheffield , can you remember them PT ? I'll have a shot at the Atholl and the Nailmakers. But I haven't been in either for over 40 years. Maybe this year.
