alchresearch
My younger brother has to write a short report about the flood defence at Woodhouse Mill. Does anyone have any details of when it was built, photos before and so on? Thanks!

hazel
The day I christened my son July 1965 I left my home in Woodhouse Mill to go up to St Joseph and it was raining quite fast. When I came back not much more than an hour later Woodhouse Mill was flooded. Retford Rd, Horsewood Rd, Rodman Drive, Rodman St. The pretty stream that ran down at the bottom of the gardens of Horsewood had beome a torrent, backing up at the station approach and pouring down Horsewood. Not able to go throught the small bridge on Rodman Drive it backed up and flooded the houses. hazel
