rosaespanola
My mum and grandma are coming to Shef from Huddersfield on Thursday to (don't laugh) poke around the graveyard in Bradfield looking for signs of our Bradfield-based ancestors. Yup, not so much my idea of a riveting afternoon out either, but I've been roped in to escort them over there and take them somewhere for lunch. Thing is, I've never actually set foot in Bradfield so I don't know if there's anything round there. Any suggestions?
BasilRathbon
THe Old Horns Inn in High Bradfield? There's a couple of posts about it on this link. http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=270395 There's also a pub in Low Bradfield but it's years since I've been there and I can't remember the name. Flightlevel
Bradfield is a great spot. Especially in good weather. The church is certainly an excellent visit. It is up on the hillside of High Bradfield and commands great views. As the other poster said the Old Horns Inn is just a stone's throw from the pub. Excellent views if sat outside. Serves Thwaite's beers. Alternatively drive down the steep road by the pub to Low Bradfield which is also very picturesque. The Plough Inn is just on the bottom slopes of the other side of the valley and is also excellent serving beers from the local Bradfield Brewery. feargal
There's also a cafe in the Post Office called the Postcard, very tiny (3 or 4 seats!) but they do lovely coffee and great cakes and buns.

sheffandy
Only one place to go, The Plough at Low Bradfield. Smashing warm welcome from hosts Chris and Mandy, lovely home cooked food at affordable prices, and good range of drinks. Might be worth ringing to book a table as it can get quite popular at lunchtimes, but worth it.
