Wolf whistling, is it wrong?

Recommended Posts

Hasn't she already said that she finds nothing wrong with it?

Just because it offends someone else, doesn't mean Pattricia has to be offended by it too.

Some people are offended by jokes about the McCanns, comments about football teams, or any other number of things.

Because one or a group of people are offended, doesn't mean everyone has to be.

I'm offended by boybands, for Christ's sake!!!

I wish they could ban them. And while we're at it, the stupid eyebrow craze!!! Since when has drawing two massive slugs on your face been a good idea?

And given that the whistlers can't tell somehow whether they're going to upset someone, they simply shouldn't do it.

It's inappropriate that any stranger on the street make any kind of comment, gesture or noise about other strangers appearance.

The fact that other women have told you that they find it offensive or intimidating or unpleasant isn't enough for you to see anything wrong with it?

No. Probably now but not then. There were much worse things to worry about like rapists and flashers.

Bringing this old subject back onto SF again as it’s being discussed on Radio Sheffield this morning. In light of the recent sexual harrassment cases is wolf whistling really wrong ? I think not, and realise we are now going too far in this subject. What do you think ?

In a society where people are looking to be offended and often play the Victim Olympics, yes it could be considered wrong.

In reality its a bit 'common' but not really wrong. If someone wolf whistles and the object of their attention dislikes like it, just ignore it.

....and in the blink of an eye we are all at the mercy of the most easily offended. Is that the kind of society you want where the complainers, snowflakes and most sensitive dictate the mores of us all.
