HeadingNorth
hmm why dont he go to court to prove his innocence then ? He's never been charged with anything.
vResistance
He's never been charged with anything. That doesn't matter any more As it said in the link in the OP- "Qatada became one of the UK's most wanted men in December 2001 when he went on the run on the eve of government moves to introduce new anti-terror laws allowing suspects to be detained without charge or trial." HeadingNorth
That doesn't matter any more It does when the question I answered is "Why doesn't he go to court."
Rupert_Baehr
Can't we just send him to Strasbourg ?? The ECHR were happy to overrule our courts' decisions . If he went to France they'd kick him straight back to Jordan with no messing ... Just send him to Calais - and tell the French police he's coming. He's wanted in France, Germany, Italy and Belgium. Mecky
It does when the question I answered is "Why doesn't he go to court." It seems you'd like him to stay in the UK, why is that?
MrSmith
It does when the question I answered is "Why doesn't he go to court." Because he doesn't want to, we tried to send him for trial but he used our good nature against us and refused to go.
mabor1950
In cases of extradition requests from third party countries we might look at the treatment someone would receive but if someone has exhibited undesirable behaviour here we shouldn't have any qualms about deporting them to their country of origin. or even in their own country
mabor1950
The cheek of the man!!! He wants to destroy the British and he wants to live here. If he hates us that much the last place he should want to be is living amongst us. Amazing how they cherry pick the best bits of our way of life. Chuck him back amongst his own people and see if they will provide for him the way we taxpayers have. Totally beggars belief!!!!!!! to right and if the government cant afford a ticket we will have a whip round
mj.scuba
On the plus side, all incidents like this where we are at odds with the European Courts, simply adds more weight to arguments that we should withdraw from the ECHR.
some guy
Deport the b@5t@rd! He's a convicted terrorist. It shouldn't be our problem what awaits him in his homeland.
