Kickboxing Fight Night, Sunday 1st June 2008

What a night!!!

 

All went well eventually once we got things sorted out.

Here are the results:

 

1. Ian Kitchen (paragon) Beat Daniel Boyd (Sitnakmuay) DEC

( K1 rules @ 65kg)

Excellent tear up , Ian being a fluent boxer while the muay thai fighter from bournemouth preferred to be at kicking range.

 

2.Alan Baptist (Newcastle, Keris gym) KO'd Gavin Cooper (Warriors) Round 1

FC Rules @ 67kg

 

3.Joe McGovan (SDF) Vs Matt Montague (Sandy holts ) = DRAW

Thaiboxing@75kg

 

4.Jeff Binns (Fight Unit) KO'd Steve Cantrill (DRagon Freestyle) Round 1

73kg K1 Rules

 

5.Ehssan Fiaz (AFK) Vs Mike Lakenby (GBH)

Really enjoyed the show. Thanks very much for the opportunity to promote my club and shop.

 

As for the fights, there were some talented guys putting it on the line for our entertainment and they deserve a great deal of respect (and that’s coming from a ground fighter:hihi:)

Sshhh about the sauna suit! My weight problems are supposed to be private

Yousifs fight got called off because his opponent (a 28 year old instructor) lost his bottle!!!

He was playing for time and not bothering to get changed and then moaned about the gloves. In the end Steve Mann (yousifs opponent) pulled out some PU (yes PU not leather) Blitz Boxing Gloves and insisted that both fight in them

After a lot of argument, we said wed take the fight in whatever (even bare knuckles if need be )

 

Steve mann took off his handwraps and said i "psyched him out" and then left the venue.

He even had the cheek to ask for travelling expenses

I'm just wondering when and where the next kickboxing event is involving SDF?
