maria67
I still make Hash in winter and we have Hendersons too. I loved the pie and peas from the shop near Banners a rare treat, we would take a big basin to carry them in. Mum's meat and potato pie, I just can't get the same suet crust. Pancakes on Shrove Tuesday with lashings of lemon and sugar (sometimes oranges) Sugar sandwiches, we had real butter, not that we were posh. salad cream, tomato ketchup, or brown sauce sandwiches condensed milk sandwhiches...mmmmmm Chocolate sponge with chocolate custard raw egg beaten into warm milk and sugar, don't think I could stomach it now and of course wonderful dripping sandwiches on the way home Attercliffe baths Marion i make meat n potatoe pie wi sute crust all time if u use self-a-raising flour and sute but no fat and roll it thickly it comes out all think and crumberley. It`s my kids fav food
jaynie38
Someone told me that the school dinners cheese and onion pie had SMASH in it, no wonder I could never get it right, would never have thought of that, will try and get the recipe though I also loved school luncheon meat, perfect round circle with no fat, and pudding - concrete and flies - lovely sugary hard sweet pastry thing with currants and served with custard yummy!!!!! :)

Gingerbarf
remember years ago havin some crisps in Manor club that were shaped like Pizza's think they were called something like bitza-Pizza?? Something i used to eat when i was a nipper was Salad cream sandwiches, still have them now though when i really fancy them. But the 1 thing i really miss is a proper yorkshire fishcake, got our local to make them recently but he's sold up and the new owners won't make them!!!
