Galbraith
I have Italian customers arriving this evening who want a pint and something to eat tonight. They are staying at the Mercure and I thought the Wig and Pen might be a good option. Thoughts being: It's a pub (so a little traditional), and the food menu looks pretty good. Also not too far to walk. Would there be a need to book for just four people? Any thoughts gratefully received.
medicgirl
I was there 2 weeks ago and didn't need to book for a party of 3 of us. Very nice, simple food esp the roast duck breast in honey. Recommend.
Galbraith
Thanks medicgirl. Sounds like what I'm looking for. As nobody has given the Wig & Pen a withering review (forum first?) I'll give it a go.
Meaks
Never tried their food but always thought it looked good. Its not a traditional boozer but has a nice chilled out atmosphere, and decent beer. http://www.wigandpensheffield.com

Galbraith
We did go in last night. It was quiet, as expected on a Tuesday after bank holiday, but not deserted. Beer was good, food was good, service was good, and a nice atmosphere as said above. I'd certainly go again.
