BBC News - BBC local radio faces significant cuts to programming
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-63455192

Assume this means the end of things like the football phone in of a weekday evening, as that isnt "live sport" as such.

You might still get the 'Praise & Grumble' show after the football on a Saturday as I've heard a few other similar shows from around the regions but it looks like the end of the nightly 'Football Heaven', tho' that wouldn't be a great loss.   Its now just the same old callers who won't trouble the presenters with any even vaguely controversial or anything that would put Radio Sheffield's relationships with the local clubs at risk.

Upside, Becky Measures might be dropped.

I can think of others . . . . . .

No she's the top of my list.  Heard her sitting in for Howard Pressman tonight.  She's doing a serious piece about people with pre-paid meters not accessing the vouchers they should have received.  The person at the other end of the phone, brought in to talk about the matter was thrown a bit when Measures starts off the interview with "Happy Halloween."

She's a very poor presenter.  She seems to be the female equivalent of Gary Davies, stuck in a 1980's mindset.  She'd be much better on a commercial radio station.

Dont get me wrong , she is dire but I can still think of one worse.

Is his surname Foster by any chance?  Unable to carry a show on his own.
