drummerrich
The point is that for a community radio station their targeted audience is only a very small part of that community , thats why local radio in general is failing. For your information I listen to radio a lot , usually Radio 5 live , Radio 4 and Planet Rock. Could not disagree more. RS has a good variety as Ive staed before, I dont think their audicne is targeted at one group at all. IMO radio 5 and radio 4 as Planet Rock have less of variety than RS. Planet rock plays??? Rock music, or rock Genre. Ok you may get the odd blues or rock blues track...but thats it. Radio 5 is generally talking and Radio 4 would not appeal to me what so ever. Where as RS does. Local topics disgussed in the morning with TB, the forum or whatever with Rony (I dont listen to), you have music then talk after 5 with DP. then you have the football heaven discussing your local side from 6, then a specialist show from 7 most nights. Plus the mix mash from mid morning to early evening. Admittedly, I do listen to R2 now and then, but also Planet Rock but, again, im finding this more boring as it seems to be the same old songs over and over again. janie48
All this heavy snow today. I expected Radio Sheffield to have given out more information about the road situation and bus cancellations like they used to do?
CorkerSWFC
Listen to the football commentary and hear the supposed expert Summarizers, they sound like they have been picked up from the ale house half the time lol.
Bludragonfly
The couple of times I was in the car today I heard them giving out snow related info
Sheffieldbee
That's all I've heard them talk about all day. Toby Foster had just been nominated for a Sony Award, which is apparently very good. I think it's his second nomination.
Orphee
Roni (spelling?) Robinson makes me want to slit my wrists. 'Today we're talking about cancer. Again. And suicide. And people who want to commit suicide because they've got cancer. And divorce. And rape. And cancer. Again. And death in general. Are you dead? Do you know someone who's dead? Would you like to be dead, or maybe it's not for you. Please call. For help.

Why does it take them 3 hours to "summarize" a game that took 90 minutes to play?
Ousetunes
I know you'll want to castrate me for saying this but I just don't like Toby Foster's voice. Those gravelly tones just don't make pleasant listening. Sorry! I don't listen to Radio Sheffield often. Whilst Football Heaven is, in principle a good programme, you have to endure some of South Yorkshire's most cerebrally challenged morons arguing 'ref at t' lane wor a disgrace'. I put Radio Sheffield on when it snows to see if my daughters' schools are open. Once I've established that, I revert to my usual channels. Radio York is a model of how local radio should sound. Relevant, interesting and compared to Radio Sheffield, 'modern'.
