unistudent
Hi I'm graduating in July and would like to go for lunch afterwards somewhere that is sheffield if you know what I mean? No chains please, just somewhere nice where I can celebrate my (hopefully) good results with my family as a last meal in sheffield! Preferably somewhere fairly central, walking distance from the octagon would be perfect! Thankyou ps - dam house has been vetoed!
Alastair
Well it's not upmarket, but it's proper Sheffield. Pub lunch in the Bath Hotel. http://www.sheffieldpub.co.uk/pubs/city-centre/bath-hotel/

Bago
I had to think really hard as to what can be considered as a 'Sheffield' restaurant. 1) I think Thyme Cafe suits it. Only because it has such a long standing relationship with Thyme (?) 2) Plus also The Fat Cat sums up Sheffield pretty well. (Even though it's pretty far and it's not famous for the food, but the ales.) 3) Mama & Leonies - the service of this place sums up Sheffield well. It's not most famous for its food, but it's the atmosphere that it creates. Curator's house and Millhouse Park Cafe do night service, but I think you need to pre-book. The Pudding Ladies seems to be a local brand itself. I quite like their cooking, but not the pudding so much. It is more pudding, than it is dessert, which is a very local taste I think.
