How much does it cost for a full service for a Mercedes?

Recommended Posts

You'd definitely save money taking it elsewhere than the dealer, but I would look for an independent Mercedes specialist. Firstly, because Mercedes' are complex cars and they will have more idea about servicing them and also it will be better for the service history come resale time.

Don't know of anywhere in Sheffield though, sorry! :)

Mercs can be serviced quite reasonably by reputable independent garages, However, check the service history the car already has as Mercedes cover most major mechanical parts under warranty for life as long as the car has been serviced and maintained by the franchised dealer from new.

It's cheaper elsewhere. That said, I've just been offered a deal by Mercedes, they come and collect my car, leave me a courtesy one and will service it for £150 all inclusive. So anything they check within that service, that needs fixing is covered by the fee. There's a more comprehensive one at £250 offering the same deal, but I had a full service done 2 years ago and do very low mileage am opting for the cheaper one.

merc have ripped me off in the past ......... however ive just got a letter from them (the one near meadowhall) offering a full service ......... all inclusive for £150 .... which is unbelievably cheap (last one i had there was £440) ......... so it might be worth giving them a ring to see if that offer still stands (it was about 2 weeks ago)

I have my car serviced at another garage who uses all genuine merc parts ....... which is just as good

I can PM you the name of my garage ......... but i wouldnt say its cheap, but they do a good job. Personally I'd take it to merc for the £150 inclusive service ....... you'll struggle to find cheaper ......... my service at another garage came to more than that (but i had the service done ........ a week later got the letter with the offer on .. typical eh?!)

Sometimes the cost of servicing is balanced by the rewards, if i didnt make clear in my earlier post. Mercedes cover most mechanical parts for life if the car has been serviced from new by the dealer, if you have it serviced by a independent you loose that warranty. therefore, if the car throws a driveshaft of blows the head gasket etc (unlikely as its a merc) you will have to pay the cost of parts and labour (expensive) but if the car has been serviced and maintained by the dealer from new, should a problem arise, it shouldnt cost you a bean.
