cgksheff
Possibly a lost opportunity for sweeping out the corridors? http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/whats-new/newchiefexecutive "John Mothersole has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of Sheffield City Council, subject to ratification by full Council at their meeting later today. His appointment follows a rigorous assessment programme held earlier this week, in which he was competing against a very strong field, and selection by a cross party panel chaired by Council Leader Councillor Paul Scriven. ........" rubydazzler
I can see that this thread has really fired the juices of the local electorate Although most of them probably have no idea who he is anyway, or what the job is that he's got
cgksheff
Just as an aside, it was interesting to see that SY Police is losing one of its finest Commanders/Chief Superintendent who is going to become Deputy Chief Executive for a Council down South. Can't blame him, as he's probably doubling his salary, but it does seem a bit of a waste.
Albert T Smith
But the Chief Executive does not really have a job. He starts a different way of living for twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, fifty two weeks a year!! He is welcome to it. I would not want it. ( Except for doing one thing!! ). Umeeksk
Well we do have a new "buy local" policy at the Council... Congratulations to Mr. Mothersole - he has proven beyond doubt that he is the best candidate for the job simply by doing it exceptionally well over the last four months. Having to cope with a change of administration and a complete new set of cabinet members can't have been easy but he handled it with aplomb - very well done indeed.
