I think we must have picked it up in a jumble sale or something some years ago. I have no idea who he is and there are no Luptons in our family. Lupton on CWGC, and only one on SDGW, they are one and the same, William John Lupton, Born Sheffield, Enlisted Sheffield, Pte 11th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, died 24/9/16, commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, was previousley with the K.O.Y.L.I. 28173. good luck with your search, Dean. Parents Albert and Theresa Lupton. Albert came from Goole, and he married Theresa in Sheffield in the third quarter of 1888. 1891 census - living at 24 Bernard Street, Albert a "general labourer" 1901 census at 20 Colliers Row - Albert a "brewers labourer"; Theresa a "paper box maker". Interesting, we had an Albert Lupton an ex Royal Marine from WWII who taught PT at Owler Lane Sec; Int; in 1956. I wonder if he could have been related.
