Short answer is no, unless you are prepared to go to a part of the city where you may well get shot.

Sheffield isn't a proper city - surely you realise that? It's a large village. There are very few places that stay open until 4 or 5 am. Very few good shops, restaurants, bars, compared to other cities of a similar size in this country.

The wacky, left-wing councils saw to that some years ago. It's only recently that they allowed the extremely daring move of having a few pavement cafe's. And only this after years and years of trying.

If you want to go out and party all night and still be able to get a choice of restaurants at that time in the morning, in the city centre, you should go to Manchester.

And be even more at risk of being shot!

We've been out in Manc a couple of times recently and it was quite scary.

There was even a huge scrap in some bar down canal st. Not the kind of atmosphere our gays friends made it out to be!

All big cities get scary. But some of them have decent places to go at 4 am in the morning - and some don't.

If you think Manchester City Centre is less safe than Carlisle Street area of Sheffield at 4 am in the morning then you must be ill.

Every single city has its bad parts- and i would say that manchester has many many many more than sheffield.

If you want a drink at 5am- the off licences at SPAR- eccie road and SPAR- near the train station are still selling booze.
