I understand that leaving things on standby uses as much power is it does when it is on. Don't give these rip off utility companies more money than you have to. chem1st Posted September 13, 2010 Share Posted September 13, 2010 Gas about £4 a month, electricity I calculate about £15-20 a month. Just got a bill through for the quarter, and the electric works out at £6 a month. Over the past week when comparing mine and British gas's actual readings I've used 34 kWh in a week, but over the past 3 weeks comparing my own readings I've used minus 11 kWh.
