Ford Lane - Stocksbridge

Looking for historical information relating to Ford Lane in Stocksbridge. Runs from Hunshelf Road in the Works down towards deepcar (runs through the works site now) there are many rights of way and industrial walks from it. It has been mentioned in local history books as being one of the oldest roads and it runs from the old Stocksbridge bridge site (Bridge still under the road). There used to be many homes on it but alas only one survies at the moment (Ford cottage build in 1860) well at least untill this is demolished by the developers who also plan to take out the road too and turn it into part of their retail park!!!.
