troyhark
Not this morning it wasn't, 2°C when I took the dog out at 8 am, and a biting northerly made it feel about minus 2°C Compared to other countries at same latitude we are warmer and I wasn't talking about the last couple of days. In general we are toasty for our lattitude. What we need is a winter like 1962-63 to put a chill on some of the GW hype. Global Warming doesn't mean warmer weather. It does means more energetic weather though and that's not good. Hurricanes seem to be bigger and more frequent of late, for example.

Solomon1
Literal or metaphorical fire? Ironically metaphorical. Not as in fanning flames.

(sol gets up and puts some more coal on the fire) I don't think scientists are fighting amongst themselves. I think there are a few (hand-picked by people who don't believe in global warming ie the Bush Administration) who make sure the public think there are lots of scientists who don't think global warming is happening. If you look in the peer reviewed literature, there are very, very, very few papers giving solid facts that deny global warming and climate change. The bulk of the literature gives facts that prove that global warming is happening.

troyhark
You didn't put a smilie after the 'GW Hype' comment, which is what Solomon may have been refering to, so easily taken at face value. You have to be extra careful when posting humourous/ironic remarks as people cannot see you smiling when you type.
Lester_Bigot
Thanks to Global Warming, it has been a freezing cold day 1) I needed to wear a warm coat when outside 2) My car windscreen had ice on it (If its not warm enough to melt the Ice on my windscreen in Sheffield, I hardly think the ice caps are going to melt at The North Pole). This ice needed scraping aggresively I have to add Can we now safely say that Global Warming is simply a myth, based on todays evidence? and that Tax's (sorry green taxes) don't need to be introduced
