Fight for tickets, 1000 very drunk students, great music, huge dancefloor, very wet & slippery dancefloor, 'kopped off' with my future wife there in 1991! Fri night at Octagon Sheff Uni - poly students going into enemy territory! Very good night, big venue and oppurtunity to take micky out of posh uni students! Of course we used to go to Pop Tarts on a Friday at the Octagon, then sometimes go to Sheff 1 to take the mickey out of poly students! They didn't even used to trust you with real glasses at the NMB It meant you could take your pint onto the dancefloor finish it and just drop it without breaking your rythm Both great nights but The Octagon attracted the better bands. Sorry mate, before Gatecrasher there was Jive Turkey and Palais / Music Factory. They were ground breaking clubs. Gatecrasher just filled a void and catered for Trance.
