silverknight
Make the most of the current Sheffield services 1/2/33 which at present cover most of the former Outer Circle 2/59. Rumour has it that these are most likely to be on the First SY axe list (whole or parts ).

zakes
Going on the No. 2 and No. 3 circular bus route. I too was put on the circular bus on Sunday afternoon in the late 60’s. Me mudda would take me to the bus stop atween Hollinsend Church and Gleadless Tahnend and pay my fair directly to the conductor, then asked him to watch me. In other words she wanted him to make sure I didn’t get off at the next stop or so. I didn’t mind really, because me dad had worked all week and was entitled to be on the nest at least once in 7 days. The journey was very pleasurable and I would sit upstairs at the front and enjoy the view and hold on to the rail across the window and pretend I was driving the bus. I would also imitate the sound of the engine too, not bad for a 14 year old crackpot eh?
tasha_78_1
I lived at Gleadless and went to school at Abbeydale Girls Grammar so went on the Circular every day, getting on at Ridgeway Road and off at Carterknowle Road. I remember taking visitors on the full route, it was a good way of showing them Sheffield.

Runningman
The green metal roadside pole on which the clock stood, is still in situ opposite the Derbyshire Lane / Hemsworth Road entrance to Graves Park. That must be some age, wonder it hasn't fallen down or been taken down. Can we have it scheduled Grade 2 ?
bullerboY
We used to catch the outer circular bus at the Forum bus stop on Herries rd and go all the way round with some doorstop jam sarnies and a bottle of watter in the six weeks holidays, good fun then. Todwriter
I remember riding all the way round on the 2 and 3 when I was a student in 1965/6 and my digs were near Gleadless. The bus went past two depots - at Greenland and Herries Road - but which one supplied the buses and crews?

Herries Road did the most but other garages did odd trips especially at peak periods
