Plain Talker
My husband says that the longest road without a pub on it is Shoreham Street anyone agree with that or have any other suggestions I would say Upper Hanover Street comes a pretty close second. I would think that of all the major roads in the city, Abbeydale Road has proportionately the fewest?(The Broadfield is the first pub, now that the Royal is housing, then there isn't another to my knowledge till you get to the one opposite Abbeydale Grange School, and then the one at Millhouses park. Plain Talker
City Road? there are/ were at least two pubs (the Travellers and the Elm Tree- I know the Travs is defunct at the moment) and two Working Men's Clubs (the Manor Social Club and The Arundel Ex-Servicemen's Club) on City Road (three if you count the "Top-Club", The Park and Arbourthorne, which has a long side wall along from the Eastern Avenue junction.)
