56cheffy
Is it likely to be a simple solution? Any suggestions? Thanks.

gnvqsos
You will need to clear the filter found at base of machine, with pull dow n flap.Make sure machine is turned off or may power uponce cleared
Mr_Squirrel
This happened to our Washer/Drier (Hotpoint) and clearing the filter cured the problem. However, the filter on our machine is not located behind a flap on the front of the machine. If its a Hotpoint (Or other 'filterless' machine) the Filter is accessable behind the rear panel at the bottom of the machine between a 'Y' shaped junction of pipes. Hope this helps. E-clips
It sounds like the infra red tapiod central control sensor to me. You can get them from poundland for 99p.
medusa
It could be the filter, but if you can't hear the motor attempt to pump the water out at the appropriate place in the cycle it could also be the pump, which would necessitate a call out.
