NamelessRob
Thermal cutout gone? (Possibly a little red button on the back that just needs pushing in, maybe needs a cheap component replacing) Make & model might be useful
fingerbob
my dryer stops getting hot but still goes round when the big filter needs emptying not the little one inside the door, it has a panel to get to it on the front, could that be the problem? joeeey
So have you cleaned the filters? It could be the heating element, these vary in price from arround £14 to £75 depending on the make and model of the dryer. If you let me know the name and model I will do my best to suggest what could be wrong, without coming to look at it tho it'll be a struggle! :-)
rothschild
Make sure the filter is clear of any fluff. I automatically clean it on every use now. My filter slots into the front of the machine and just lifts out so really is easy to keep clean. Then there's the red button on the back which once depressed will see the machine back in action. If that doesn't work then there's a good chance that it's fritzed.
Bikertec
If your competent take the back off and clean the heating element which will be full of fluff. Don't forget to unplug it first though.
