Wasn't this the subject of a thread last year.....some developer wanted to create a gay village and his friend (the OP) was wanting to turn the square into a pink park - I think he mentioned Strawberry Fields as a name for it. And from what I remember of the answers, and the contributions I made to the thread, it didn't go down too well. Perhaps the council will come up with something better that what was proposed then. Also why a "gay bookshop" is Waterstones and the like not good enough for the gays? you want integration and yet you want to segregate yourself from the rest of the world by only going to a gay bar, gay bookshop. gay cafe and gay clubs!
