CornishRose
Does anyone remember the Paper shop at the bottom of Thistle Street? The Bottomleys had it an the 40's/50's. They had two children, Glyn and Ruth. More or less opposite where that Billiard Hall used to be....we used to have our bonfire there (after it was bombed of course.) And the mums used to make sticky parkin/toffee/toffee apples/baked potatoes, etc. and we all brought fireworks. What were those called that used to be pinned on a pole and they whizzed round and round?
