pitsmoorboy
Does anyone remember having cocoa and sugar in a little paper cone? My Mum used to give it us sometimes..presumably when we wanted sweets, and didn't have any money. We used to have our sugar and cocoa in a bit of newspaper, sometimes we had rhubarb dipped in sugar

Texas
Regarding the cocoa and sugar, some shops used to sell it in newspaper during the war. A halfpenny a go.

I was born at the end of the war, but I remember being sent to buy one oxo cube.

CornishRose
Hi Didnt some people buy 1/2d ducks to eat?. 1/2d ducks were faggots..at least that's what my dad always called faggots. I still buy them now and again. Sliced and fried.....
