Charlotte_24
I'm in the process of setting up my business, but will need a small amount of funding in order to it get up and running. I thought about extending an existing personal loan, but maybe a business loan would be better? It's only for a small amount to kick start things, has anyone got any tips? MBardwell
If the amount is fairly small and you have some sort of forecasts/ business plan maybe you could apply for a small overdraft, then you dont have set monthly payments that could affect cash flow. indizine
I used to be a director of the south yorkshire microloan fund. It is now managed by Donbac and you do need to meet criteria as its a lender of last resort (ie turned away by the bank).
diablo
I used to be a director of the south yorkshire microloan fund. It is now managed by Donbac and you do need to meet criteria as its a lender of last resort (ie turned away by the bank). The interest rates are not that competative either, however they are not listed with any credit check agencies so if you do fail to make the payments it will not affect your future credit checks. My partner and I had a look into the Micro loans and we would not touch them with a barge pole.
Charlotte_24
Thanks for the help, i think i'm going to try raising my income first (somehow!) and saving. This will give me a much better start, but will mean waiting longer to get up and running.
heyholetsgo
Do you qualify for help from The Princes Trust?
Charlotte_24
I just had a look, but sadly not. I'm working more than full time already, but on minimum wage. Looks like i may just need another job, or to take on a second one until i get up and running. Good thing i'm not scared of hard work hey
