Hi Plane Talker.

I remember Alan Kilby from the 60's. Alan worked with me as a doorman (bouncer) I can't remember exactly where, I worked at quite a few places at that time as a doorman but I think it might have been the casino in the same building as the icerink and bowling ally You couldn't have wished to meet a nicer bloke, a real gent. Unless of corse you crossed him ha ha I also remember seeing him on tv wrestling against chaps like Mick Mcmanus. Is he still around?

Yeah Alan's still around, I see him at the deaf club, from time to time. he was well, the last time I saw him

I was at school (I mentioned before) with his daughter, and my mother was friends with his mother.

It was the Terry Clayton Band for most of the Fiesta's existence, although initially the band was lead by someone else (can't remember that far back!).

Terry on drums, Roger (trumpet), Ken? (sax) - plus various others at different times.

There was also a brief period when the Andy Wardough (sp?) band were resident, along with loadsa dancers.

Ah, happy days!!

In the mid-60's I used to go to The Penny Farthing which I think was near where Berlin's is. It was the in-place to go on Thursday nights when several local football stars attended.

My favourite place was Nether Edge Hall on a Saturday night. the Keith Peters' Band and Match of the Day downstairs in the coffee lounge. Never any bother there and you could walk home without being mugged.

I met my first husband in the Albert - 1971. Happy days. It was the best pub around at that time - with a brilliant juke box.

The landlord and landlady from there moved to take over the Nelson (still around that time) - does anyone remember their names??

Does anyone remember going to the night club at the Wednesday ground in the 70s.

Met my husband in there who is one of the keenest Blades fans you'll ever meet. He still says Wednesday have a lot to answer for!

You refer to the Ozzie Owl (later Christies)

I have graet memories of it visiting it at least twice a week with my work mates at Fletchers Bakery.

Saw the legendary Tommy Hunt there and Danny Williams on the same bill. What a night that was!!

Alans father Albert Kilby worked with my Mother at Twist Drll way back in the 1950s.

I last was Alan a year or so ago in The Farm Road Club.

He still looked fit.
