Unstable
Does anyone know where the railway tracks from Stocksbridge steelworks go, (final destinations), and if the tracks are still in use (like the one over the Wicker arches). Looked on google earth but they are hard to follow. Many thanks.
Angus Prune
Yep, they're still there, intact and in use. Unless it's been discontinued, Corus run one train along there a day, from Aldwarke to Stocksbridge and back. It's also used for the occasional railtour. The line is a single track, which runs from Stocksbridge to Sheffield via Wadsley Bridge, Neepsend and Wicker Arches. It then joins the Sheffield-Lincoln line near the site of the former Nunnery Sidings (where the Supertram depot is now).
Unstable
The reason I ask about the wicker arches is because I've never seen a train go across there! Do you know if a train runs from Aldwarke to the Lincolnshire coast and possibly to a dock?

bus man
Most of the steelworks trains run at night so you dont see them , however there was a period thiss year when they had daylight runs due to problems elsewhere , if i hear of any i will put it on here.
