Does anyone remember the Brookes family on Buchanan Road in the early 70's?

does anyone remember the brookes family who lived on buchanan road in the late 60,s,early 70,s???

the family had no luck at all,a son,danville,died following an asthma attack,then their house burned down,luckily ,with no fatalaties,melvin howells and john gill rescued the children from the house,getting some sort of award for their bravery,the other children i remember from this family were angela,phillip and audrey,after the fire,the family moved away,but no-one knew where,the father was known as bert.

neighbours included the jeffcocks,fowlers,mrs compton,the gregorys,blind mary and the other mrs brookes,any information would be greatly appreciated.
