LexRigby
It's that time of year again... WORLD VEGAN DAY. On the 1st of November vegans are celebrating and this year there is a theme - 'improving the quality and availability of vegan food'. For some great ideas you can download the Vegan Catering for All pdf here or visit the Sheffield Animal Friends on Fargate between 11 and 3 who'll be dishing out cake! PuressenceUK
Or alternatively you can totally ignore it and have a nice big fat juicy steak instead. However as a suggestion for your theme, which you state to be 'improving the quality of vegan food' - why not try adding some meat and cheese? myriadmike
What is the vegan obsession with cake? Seems a common theme.
LexRigby
There is no 'vegan obsession'. I just happen to like cake so what! Doesn't anyone have anything more constructive to say?

It just seems every gig I go to or event where vegans are doing stuff, there are cakes present, thats all.
feargal
People tend to be more open to trying new sweet things, as opposed to savoury, so cakes and buns are a good way to tempt people who might not ordinarily go for vegan or veggie stuff. It's a shame that the vegan "cheese" substitutes are universally rubbish though, I don't think there's one which isn't like tasteless gloopy pap. BrianMaiden
I heard Sheffield Vegans were going to have a pro-vegan march, but their diets are so bad none of them had the energy so instead they're just going to sit in a vegan cafe looking pale and ill. Not fair - I don't think I've ever been to a gig where cake was available, vegan or otherwise
