Zinger549
Does anybody know why the chip shop on London road only opens from 11-2:30 and not in the evening, apart from 4-7 on Friday. I would have though that most people would eat fish and chips in the evening.
citycentral
I don't know this one, but it's probably like the chip shop in Crookes, Broomheads, which opens for just a few hours a day. The fact is they don't need to open longer than that, and unlike corporate "chain" fish bars they're not contractually obliged to. I say, if you can afford to run a business like that and still make a profit, then fair play; I wouldn't mind being in their shoes.
samesame monkey
because they make enough money when United play at home to open whenever they like, and the owner can't be bothered with the hassle of opening in the evenings.
shaunna86
I no the shop in question nd the only reason that the owner does not open in the evening is becoz of all the food places on london road. There is loads.
Satyr
I used to live on London Road and never got the chance to eat at this shop due to the fact its opening hours appeared to be sporadic and there was never a guarantee that they would be open when you walked past. So now I live near Two Steps and couldn't be happier
sierraman
I lived in the South of England for 8 years and most of the English chip shops (not in the city centres) closed around 8pm in the evening. It seems to be peculiar to the north of england to have a load to drink and then move on to the chip shop after closing time.
Katya
I don't know this one, but it's probably like the chip shop in Crookes, Broomheads, which opens for just a few hours a day. Do you know when Broomheads is open? I never seem to catch it open but have heard good things about it so would like to give it a go.
Vrsaljko
I presume you are referring to A Salt 'n' Battered?
Charlotte_24
I thought they opened until 6pm on Fridays?
