goldenfleece
cool, I agree ....... apart from my lads of course Why do you think Def Leppard? ....they emerged in 1979 with a very distinct sound which was gradually fine tuned to perfection in 1987, and the rest is history. No other rock band from Sheffield has made it so big and for so long....I must admit when I first saw them play live at the South Sea in Broomhill ( I think it was there) around 78 I was not impressed at all, but a year later they were far better, although still not ready for the big time....when they came out with the Pyromania album in 83 and hit big time in the USA, it was only a matter of time before they became huge here, even if it did take a further 4 years for them to crack the UK market when 'Hysteria' broke loose.... scoobz
Try the Tony Liddle Band (who??) if you've never seen them. Not from Sheffield, but regularly play at clubs in South Yorkshire, and are excellent.
Pauline BHG
Def Leppard <3 They are the reason i got into rock music 20 years ago. And probably one of the reasons that i was so attracted to Sheffield, and lived there for 4 years (and will hopefully be back). LOVE THEM !!
