sierraman
Anybody have experiences of the Moorlands at Owler Bar. The car park is always full at lunchtime, it seems very popular!
Marmite Man
On first glance it appears to be "delivered in an artic' generic chain carvery stodge". Try the Peacock on the roundabout it's much nicer. I did have an experience in the Moorlands car park once though. A whole different thread that one... shirker
Its very good value at £3 for a carvery, and the drinks are cheap too its always full of pensioners!

lizmachin
It is actually £3.50 for the lunchtime carvery, but goes up to about £6.00 in the evenings. I was actually taken out there one lunchtime and the average diner was around 50 years older than me. The food however was remarkably good for the price, although there were long queues. As a pensioners lunch spot it certainly fullfills its role. Not so sure that I would rush back though.
GHS1961
You get what you pay for, at the Moorlands you pay buttons and get garbage. The Peacock is 200m away and a much better option.

Marmite Man
There you go then, beat a pensioner to get to the front of the stodge queue or have family fun in the ball pit. did i say the Peacock is about 100 yards away?
