Has been for a few weeks. Originally posted by Pete1024 I do however see cars in 1st gear. If you wanna try it out, feel free! I go up and down Blake Street 2 to 8 times per day (always manage to get up in 2nd or 3rd though - and within the speed limit)! People's parking on it is poor (@ the best of times) though!
wicko_boy
Freedom Road in Walkley was fairly steep on New Years Eve a few years ago as I slid down it backwards in the car despite having brakes AND handbrake on due to the ice.... Then had to walk home - Happy New Year !
frenchfrie
I was brought up at the junction of Albert and Kent Road so can vouch for the likes of Bishopscourt, Upper Albert and Kent Road being steep. Have also lived at Crookes and Walkely but imho gotta say that Prospect Place, Bradway beats all these hands down. Not as lengthy but steeper - Hand Rail, Base Camp , Sherpas - the lot! Grahame
“when I was driving instructing I used to take pupils on it to do hill starts.” My driving instructor used to have me doing hill starts on Blake Street. That was over 40 years ago. You didn’t work for "Quick Pass" by any chance did you Viper17?

sidewinder
i would say Conduit Road in Crookes has one hell of a gradiant, Gotta second this, and in terms of driving, with bumper to bumper parked cars either side its a nightmare if you meet someone on the way up Saw a royal mail and a transit van reversing down it today blindly onto crookesmoore road coz some old codger wasn't giving way to those coming uphill
