I think Kent road is definitely the steepest although not many people will know it. The short stretch at the very top is far steeper than any of the others.

If we are only talking a short stretch of road then I think the hairpin bend that links Rivelin Road and Cliffe Road on the way up to Walkley beats anything - with the section of Walkley Road going up to the Florist not far behind

However earlier on in the thread it was proven that along the entire length then Hagg Hill is steepest - or Blake Street if you're only counting the built up area.

That is Hagg Hill isn't it?

The source will be this;

Grahame, who used to post here, did a lot of measuring. He was a bit obsessive, but usually accurate (when it came to geography).

No mention of Kent Rd on there so it's hardly the definitive list but much more importantly he's quoting an accuracy of 2 decimal paces on a percentage gradient. :suspect:

This basically means he's saying he can measure to within 0.006 degrees or to within 100 millimetres over a kilometre. (That's 6 inches in a mile if you prefer old money) Not even the ordnance survey quote with that kind of accuracy and you say he was a bloke who "did a lot of measuring"

I'm calling BS on Grahame and his figures.

Degrees = Tan-1 (Slope Percent/100)
