Mathom
You can buy a turkey crown, which is just the breastmeat and doesn't weigh the same as half an elephant. Might be better suited to your family... I've just had that for tea and it was very succulent - very easy to baste and keep moist. But at Christmas I like to have the Roast Beef of Old England. I love roast beef! A Beef Wellington would be really good!
*Wallace*
A pair would be better.
cherry24
I was going to give goose a go but since there are only two of us, I have decided on pheasant instead

boyfriday
Goose is horrendously fatty - buy a 10lb. bird and cook it, and you'll collect 25lb of grease ..sounds like most birds I know
Zamo
Most people only ever have roast turkey on Christmas Day so how can they be fed up of eating something they only have one a year?!? I'm fed up of pancakes on Shrove Tuesday... can anyone suggest an alternative?
