DaBouncer
Thanks for the 'modern' definition Kerry. However the name 'originated' from a latin word meaning 'game of foot'. I'm just trying to find the bugger!
Kerry Morley
LOL I just looked at one of the online dictionarys. For Ice hockey I found this: Function: noun Etymology: by shortening & alteration from Gods own game Date: 2000BC : a game played on ice between two teams of animals intent on killing each other between attempts to score goals on the target, often know as the goalie or netminder. The players or animals propel a piece of vulcanised rubber at speeds of upto 100 miles per hour at the target or mad fool as some call the goalie. Kerry Morley
Rosie I just put dare I say it the "major teams" There will be loads of teams I have missed but I was limited by both space and knowledge. Thats sort of why I put the sport down too, so maybe you could vote for the Sharks as they play basketball? Thats why I wanted people to comment too. Cheers Kerry;)
Guest rosie
Kerry You can`t be serious the major teams well here is a bit of information Sharks have less silver wear than Hatters. Hatters won 2 out of 3 trophys last season. What did the Sharks win ?. Hatters have been going longer and why should I vote for a mans team when the womens one is so much more interesting, never mind the women being more successful. The only reason they don`t have as much tv air time is the Hatters are female and in a men dominated sports world thats the only reason. If it was on talent and success Sharks would be way down. If the vote was on most successful Hatters would be above Wednesday, United to name but a few. So you should include them on merrit alone.
Kerry Morley
They wouldn't be above the Steelers though and they get little TV time either. This was never about mens or womens sports. I could have mentioned the Sheffield Shadows too! I am sure there are many good teams I haven't mentioned both male and female. Also different sports too, bowls, bowling, cricket, tiddly winks etc etc. Why not start your own poll? Cheers Kerry:D
