A controversial device designed to be repellant to young people is expected to be condemned by Sheffield City Council next week. Link to Article Personally, as a person supposedly outside the age range that can hear this device, I find it very irritating. My local shop has one fitted and I find myself walking a further mile to another shop after 7pm (when the shop owner activates it) I can see the merit of what they were trying to achieve however it doesn't solve the issue that it was intended for, it merely re-locates it elsewhere.
