Ghozer Posted December 2, 2008 Share Posted December 2, 2008 Last night, I looked up at the moon, and noticed a really bright star right next to it (bottom right) and a slightly dimmer one to the north east of that one. over the course of an hour, these 2 stars (still maintaining relative position to each other) seemed to have moved away from the moon. I looked tonight, and the 2 stars are still there, just much further away from the moon, but still in relative position to each other. Very weird, anyone else seen or noticed this? any insights into what they are/constellation etc? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Jupiter and Venus will remain close to each other for several days but they will not be so close to the moon again until 2012. It was beautiful, wasn't it? happyhippy Posted December 2, 2008 Share Posted December 2, 2008 Venus and Jupiter are in conjunction like this twice a year, but often so close to the Sun that we can't see them. I can't see a bloody thing at the moment, but it's possible that the planets are too low in the sky for you to see, or have even dropped below the horizon.
