Squiggs
Yes, been there myself. At one point the Highways Agency who had parked behind me with their hazard lights on were actually shouting down the phone at the AA control centre for leaving me in a a dangerous position for about 3 hours. Thankfully this was on a summer night, but still 11pm-2pm isn't all that warm!
cgksheff
The curse of carpetbaggers! The objectives of the AA used to be to provide benefit for members. Now the objective is to make a profit for the shareholders.
1to1
i think its disgusting!! i think we'll be switching bck to RAC ,ican't wait for them to ring me with there customer satisfaction survey ,its only because my managing director phoned them up and gave them a rollocking that they picked me up at that time because they said it would be 8pm b4 anyone could get to me and that would've been 6 hrs
Ouija
When my car was totalled, nobody came out at all. I had to make my own way home and claim the cost back (leaving the wrecked car where it was). I didn't know that recovery organisations would come out to you after an accident. Alastair
The curse of carpetbaggers! The objectives of the AA used to be to provide benefit for members. Now the objective is to make a profit for the shareholders. What shareholders? There aren't any as the AA was bought out by private equity companies and merged with Saga. It's rumoured they made £2 billion profit and under Gordon Brown's favourable capital gains tax regime they pay no tax on this. Join the RAC instead. 1to1
I understand that and i'm sure my company wouldhave sorted something else out if AA said they would'nt recover but with it being a company/fleet vehicle i'm not sure if its different for that
cgksheff
What shareholders? There aren't any .......... Not wanting to detract from the thread, but it doesn't matter if there is only one share, the owner of that company would be a shareholder. No? Alastair
Hmmm, maybe you have a point. I was just pointing out that the AA is privately owned now by these Private Equity companies that seem to be the new capitalism. They're accountable to no one, unlike traditional shareholder owned companies.
